Acupuncture in my practice
I primarily practice in the Japanese acupuncture style, which emphasizes refined, delicate needling with thinner needles and shallower insertions for a gentle, comfortable experience. A hallmark of this approach is careful palpation, using the sense of touch to detect subtle imbalances in the body's energy, allowing for highly individualized treatment. This style is particularly welcoming for those new to acupuncture or sensitive to needling.
For chronic, complex, and neurological conditions, I integrate gentle electroacupuncture, a technique that delivers subtle microcurrent to acupuncture needles once placed. This charges the meridian channels and stimulates specific neuro-spinal levels with electrons, deepening the therapeutic effect in a way that traditional needling alone cannot always achieve. It is especially valuable for neuropathy, slow-healing injuries, and conditions requiring more direct nervous system support.
Acupuncture is a core component of traditional Chinese medicine that involves the gentle insertion of thin needles into specific points on the body to stimulate the flow of Qi — the vital energy that moves through pathways called channels or meridians. By restoring balance to this flow, acupuncture addresses the root causes of health concerns rather than simply managing symptoms, promoting lasting well-being on both physical and mental levels.

Cosmetic Facial Acupuncture:
Cosmetic facial acupuncture is a natural, non-invasive approach to skin health and facial rejuvenation rooted in the same principles as traditional acupuncture. Fine needles are placed at specific points on the face and body to stimulate circulation, encourage collagen production, and activate the skin's own renewal processes. The result is improved tone, texture, and elasticity — a refreshed appearance that reflects genuine vitality from within rather than surface-level correction.
Beyond aesthetics, facial acupuncture treats the face as a map of overall health. Constitutional points are incorporated into each session to address underlying imbalances that often show up in the skin — whether as puffiness, dullness, tension in the jaw and brow, or uneven tone. Patients frequently notice improvements not only in their complexion but in their sleep, stress levels, and overall sense of well-being. It is a whole-person treatment that happens to show on your face.
Moxibustion:
Moxibustion involves burning dried mugwort (moxa) near or on specific acupuncture points to generate therapeutic warmth. The heat penetrates deeply into the body, enhancing circulation, supporting immune function, and reinforcing the movement of Qi through the meridians. It is often used alongside acupuncture to address pain, inflammation, and conditions that benefit from warming and tonifying the body's energy.
Cupping:
Cupping uses suction cups placed on the skin to lift the superficial muscle and fascial layers, increasing blood flow and releasing tension. It is effective for musculoskeletal pain, tightness, and stress, and is known for its deeply relaxing effect. Cupping also supports detoxification and immune function by moving stagnation and encouraging fresh circulation to areas of congestion.
Gua Sha:
Gua sha involves gentle scraping of the skin with a smooth instrument to stimulate circulation and release muscle tension. The technique brings metabolic waste to the surface for clearance, reduces inflammation, and restores balanced energy flow throughout the body. It is particularly useful for pain, headaches, and areas of chronic tightness or stagnation
